Top 10 Must-See Rap Videos of 2023 (So Far)

By Philippe Martin    04/18/2023

Music videos are an important part of the marketing effort to promote music and they can be very creative in their own unique way. They add to the musical vision of the artists by bringing their lyrics and music to life. With that being said, here are the must-see rap videos of 2023 so far!

Cordae & Anderson. Paak - Two Tens

Both artists seem to have lots of fun in this light video in support of Cordae’s new single “Two Tens”. The young rapper plays the cautious guy, and his peer plays the bold macho type as they trade bars about how they should approach women.

A$AP Rocky - Angels Pt. 2

The New York artist drops the updated visuals to his 2013 song from the amazing album LONG.LIVE.A$AP. It features new colours, adds visual effects, and reminds everybody of the great creative run he and the A$AP crew had in the early 2010s.

Conway the Machine - Quarters /

The Buffalo artist drops a very dynamic video for his new single “Quarters”. He also previews a new song with Westside Gunn named “Brucifix”. The visual is filmed in Paris as we see the talented lyricist in the busy streets, in front of the Arc de Triomphe, and at the Chateau de Versailles.

Tyler the Creator - DOGTOOTH

Promoting the release of his deluxe version of “Call Me If You Get Lost”, this new Tyler the Creator song is simple and fun. The video is the same way, featuring a flying car, wide-angle shots, and some fluffy dogs to match the theme.

AB-SOUL - GOTTA RAP

Off his 2022 album “Herbert”, the closing track “Gotta Rap” is a perfect example of the West Coast artist not forcing anything and sounding incredible. His rhymes and deliveries match the smooth production of DJ Premier as the black and white videos show him in different areas of LA.

IDK - 850 (feat. Rich The Kid)

IDK always knows how to make simple yet efficient visuals for his songs. With “850”, he does just that as we see him in a car doing donuts and bouncing around (nothing original, but very fun). The beat switch brings different elements in and makes the video even more interesting to watch.

METRO BOOMIN - Creepin' (Remix)

The very popular song by Metro Boomin gets the video treatment with the remixed version that included a quick verse by Diddy. The Weeknd and 21 Savage are both present in the foggy setting of people spying on each other. It feels so cheesy and unoriginal, making this a guilty pleasure to watch.

Bas - Diamonds

The Dreamville artist releases a cool-looking video to go along with his new single “Diamonds”. Filmed as a black-and-white movie that includes X-Ray effects, the 4-minute visual is hypnotizing from start to finish.

Logic - Wake Up

Released as the first single off his “College Park” album, “Wake Up” gets a simple yet impacting visual that features a single room filled with a lot of things happening. We get to see the ugly side of living in a poor neighbourhood as violence, drugs and robberies are all going down.

Rich Brian - Sundance Freestyle

Released simultaneously with his movie debut at the Sundance Film Festival, this new song by Rich Brian is catchy and fun. The video is the same, with a “celebrity interview gone wrong” setting that features the artist in an overconfident mood.
