10 New Songs You Must Listen To! - March 2023

By Philippe Martin 04/03/2023

March brought spring and a bunch of great new rap songs. Some newcomers like Mike Dimes and Blxst are quickly establishing themselves as artists who release a lot of songs with efficiency. Respected producer The Alchemist is on a great collaborative run, the prolific Hit-Boy has some stuff to get off his chest, and Canadian artists are shining bright on the underground scene.

With that being said, here are the best songs of March 2023. This list contains many mainstream and independent placements from artists who either dropped great albums during the month or that are preparing to do so soon. Let us know in the comments what you think about these and if any other singles deserved to make this list.

hit-boy

Hit-Boy & The Alchemist - Slipping Into Darkness

The two legendary artists unite for a song that proves that their talent is beyond the production boards. They each rap over the other one’s beat, creating a strong bond between the California natives. The Alchemist spits a quick but efficient verse over Hit-Boy’s soulful instrumental. The latter then raps for 3 minutes about his place within the music industry and why he should be respected when compared to some other big-name producers repeatedly doing the same formula without taking creative risks.

blxsr

Blxst - Passionate (feat. Roddy Rich)

With the release of his new EP “Just For Clarity 2”, the singer from Los Angeles keeps on building his catalogue with some good radio-friendly songs like “Passionate”. Featuring Roddy Rich, the duo sings about their luxurious lifestyles and how their status impacts their relationship with women. This is nothing new under the sun, but the melodies and the laid-back production are very catchy.

swizz beatz

Swizz Beatz - Street Opera (feat. SAINt JHN, Fivio Foreign & BIA)

Released for the show “Godfather of Harlem”, the new song “Street Opera” features SAINt JHN, Fivio Foreign, and BIA rapping over a very intense drill instrumental. Produced by Swizz Beatz, the beat is hard-hitting and epic as the opera vocals loop over a nasty kick. The rappers are rightfully chosen for the genre, as they all seem to be in their natural habitat for the 3-minute song.

larry june

Larry June, The Alchemist & Big Sean- Palisades, CA

As they prepare the release of their collaborative album “The Great Escape” on March 31st, Larry June and The Alchemist recruit Detroit’s own Big Sean for a cool song about taking calculated risks and betting on yourself. Rapping over an Alchemist beat for the first time, the former G.O.O.D Music artist doesn’t break a sweat as he speaks on business ventures and fatherhood. If the rest of the project is on that level, fans of Uncle Larry are in for a treat at the end of the month.
